Promoting dialogue among youths to resolve conflict

A debate that attracted over 200 student was organised at Mengo senior secondary school in Kampala.  Themed; "Promoting peace-building and inter-cultural understanding", the debate aimed at promoting dialogue and instilling necessary skills among young people as a way of preventing conflict to ensure peace and security in societies.

The debate comes as preparation for the launch of the National Day of Dialogue scheduled for 3rd October 2014. The program targets to educate young people on the importance of peace, security and conflict prevention and support for inclusion of goal 16 in UN post2015 development agenda.


The project is funded by a Norwegian organisation, Vennska Nord (Friendship North-South) and supported by partners such as United Nations Association of Uganda (UNAU) under its project Freedom from Violence, Dialogue and Conflict Management (DCM), and other stakeholders.
